A journey
by boat
It was the month of February. Our
college was closed for a week. I was sitting alone. I saw some of my classmates
coming towards me. They told me that they had arranged a trip by
boat. My joy knew no bounds. I expressed my desire to join the party.
We had to go to the other side of
the Ganga. We hired a boat. The boat left the Ghat in the morning. The weather
was fine. The current was in our favor. The boat reached
the middle of the river. We saw beautiful sights on both
sides of the river. Trees and green fields were very charming. Farmers
were working in the fields. Cattle were grazing. The boat
moved on. We saw many boats and steamers plying in the river. Uttam and
Moyna sang sweet songs. After two hours we reached our destination.
We landed on the other side of the Ganga. We prepared our lunch. We took bath in the
Ganga. Then we took our meals. We passed some-time in gossiping. We also
walked on the sand.
It was evening. We were ready to
return. We got into the boat again. The return journey was very pleasant. The moon
appeared in the sky. The sky was clear. The cool breeze was blowing. The
scene was very charming. We came back to the Ghat at about 6.30 pm. We
were very happy. A journey by boat is very useful to us. It refreshes our minds.
It is not costly. But sometimes it is risky.
