So, according to them, there is indeed a great difference between eight dollars a week and a million a year. Hence they will consider the acts of Della and Jim utterly foolish. For, they sacrificed their valuable possessions for a foolish sentiment. But according to the writer, such an assessment is wrong. And love is much more valuable than any material wealth which cannot bring the happiness that love does.
